We are happy that you are considering visiting our church and maybe making it your church too. Read on for some practical tips for planning your visit.

Getting here: The church is located at 1239 Murray Road in Odenton, MD 21113. You will be able to see our sign and the church from Annapolis Road (Rt 175).  Parking is available to the left, right, and behind the church. On busy Sundays when the parking lots fill up, people also park along Murray Road.

Parts of the church: When viewing the church from Annapolis Road (Rt 175), you will see an all brick section on the left and a newer-looking section that’s part brick toward the bottom on the right.  The left part of the church houses the sanctuary, fellowship hall, pastors’ offices, classrooms, and the pre-school.  The right part of the church houses the Lighthouse Worship Center (Lighthouse), Beacon Café, youth room, and classrooms.  There is a traditional service at 8:00am in the sanctuary.  At 9:30am, there is contemporary service in the Lighthouse Worship Center. At 11am, there is another traditional service in the sanctuary.

Worship: A typical worship service at our church may include a greeting, announcements, opening prayer, time for people to greet each other, scripture readings, an offering, the Lord’s Prayer, a children’s message, the sermon, special music and hymns, and a closing prayer.  The music in the traditional services (8:00am and 11am) consists of hymns, anthems, and special music led by an organ and piano.  The music in the contemporary service (9:30am) is contemporary Christian music and is led by a live praise band. Communion is served on the first Sunday of the month. All are welcome to participate.

What to wear: You will see people wearing their favorite team’s gear (Ravens, Orioles, etc), casual attire, dresses, shirt and tie, shorts and t-shirt, jeans, and attire from the youth sports game of the day. Wear what’s comfortable for you.

Children: Young children are welcome to attend service with their family/group.  If you would prefer a break from your little one(s) or need help keeping them occupied we have options.  There is a nursery service for chuilren up to age 3.  We also have activity bags with child-appropriate materials available.

Adult Classes: There are Sunday School classes for all ages at 9:30am.

If you have any questions at all before, during, or after your visit — please ask!  We strive to be welcoming to guests and would love the chance to help you learn more about Nichols-Bethel.
