Layettes for Loved Ones

The church provides layettes to new or expectant parents as a congratulatory gift. Layettes are a bi-monthly gift, which is presented during Ft. Meade’s Baby Boot Camp sessions. Odenton Elementary Angels

Be a Christmas blessing to a needy child. Select a child’s name to supply Christmas gifts to needy school children. Clothes are requested, as well as toys. Wrap gifts and bring to church before the Christmas break. Gifts will be delivered to the children before Christmas.

Wildcat Mentors

Provide monetary donations to assist the mentoring program to prepare 5th Grade students to transition to Middle School. 5th Graders will be paired with 2 mentors (honor students) from Middle School who will be their buddies during the 5th Grade school year. Shoes for Sharing

Provides shoes for general wear, as well as gym class. All classes, Kindergarten through 5th Grade are in need of these items throughout the school year.

Confident Kids

Sponsor a needy child with a happy start to the school year. Children are provided with new clothing and school supplies to begin the school year. Information on sizes and clothing needs will be provided. Also needed in this sponsorship is a backpack filled with necessary school supplies.

Tutoring Program

Tuesdays 4:00-5:00 p.m. Be a positive influence for a child K-5th Grades in this after-school program. Students come to the church one day every week to receive a listening ear, emotional support, and help with homework.

Kids’ Corner Café

Be a positive influence for a student. Talk while eating lunch! This group meets at the school monthly (Mondays) to eat lunch together and share conversation. Adults sit with the students as they share about their school experiences, hobbies, classes they like, etc. Much fun is had by all. Meet at the church and go

Backpack Buddies

Backpack Buddies provides weekend food bags to students of Odenton, Waugh Chapel and Four Seasons Elementary Schools along with Arundel Middle and Arundel High Schools throughout the school year.

Missions

Nichols-Bethel sponsors two overseas missionary teams.  We contribute tens of thousands of dollars annually to disaster relief, local Helping Hands assistance, local school support and United Methodist charities such as the United Methodist Committee on Relief.

Volunteers in Mission

Nichols-Bethel participates in United Methodist Volunteers in Mission (UMVIM), a program that provides opportunities for service in places of need around the world by developing and nurturing relationships with domestic and international leaders and connects volunteers with suitable projects for effective service.
