Be a Christmas blessing to a needy child. Select a child’s name to supply Christmas gifts to needy school children. Clothes are requested, as well as toys. Wrap gifts and bring to church before the Christmas break. Gifts will be delivered to the children before Christmas.
Sponsor a needy child with a happy start to the school year. Children are provided with new clothing and school supplies to begin the school year. Information on sizes and clothing needs will be provided. Also needed in this sponsorship is a backpack filled with necessary school supplies.
Backpack Buddies provides weekend food bags to students of Odenton, Waugh Chapel and Four Seasons Elementary Schools along with Arundel Middle and Arundel High Schools throughout the school year.

Praise Band The praise band leads the contemporary worship service on Sundays and participates in church and community events. The band consists of instrumentalists (electric guitar, bass guitar, acoustic guitar, keyboard, drums) and vocalists and plays a variety of contemporary Christian songs. Nichols-Bethel sponsors two overseas missionary teams. We contribute tens of thousands of dollars annually to disaster relief, local Helping Hands assistance, local school support and United Methodist charities such as the United Methodist Committee on Relief.
Our church participates in and is a drop-off location for Operation Christmas Child. Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse, an international Christian relief and evangelism organization headed by Franklin Graham. The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world

The church provides nursery service from 8:45am until 11:30am on Sunday mornings. During this period, infants and children up to age 3 may be left in the nursery so that their parents may attend services and/or Sunday School. We are very fortunate to have dedicated and capable women who serve in the nursery every Sunday.
Nichols-Bethel participates in United Methodist Volunteers in Mission (UMVIM), a program that provides opportunities for service in places of need around the world by developing and nurturing relationships with domestic and international leaders and connects volunteers with suitable projects for effective service.

From about 9:30am-11:30am on Sunday in the Beacon Café of the Lighthouse Welcome Center, you will find food and fellowship as we gather before, during, and after the 10:17am services. If you’re just arriving, just leaving, or just passing through please stop by for fellowship over coffee, tea, donuts, pastries, fruit, etc.
The Christian Assistance Program (CAP) is a cooperative ministry involving 12 Christian churches in our local area. We work together to provide food for the needy and cooperate in sponsoring the Red Cross blood drives. The local churches that make up CAP are:
