Sunday Activities: Game Night and Easter Musical Organizational Meeting

This Sunday, January 20, we will be having two special activities at the church:

At 6 pm, the church will host an Old Fashioned Game Night. This will be a pot-luck dinner, so bring a covered dish and your favorite game to share

CALLING ALL SINGERS! The organizational meeting for the Eyes of Faith production (which was snowed out on Thursday) has been rescheduled to 12:00 pm Sunday in the fellowship hall. “Eyes of Faith” uses filmed characters on DVD (Simeon, Judas, Mary Magdalene and Peter) with live narration, choir and soloists. The filmed characters (followers of Jesus) are interviewed in “TV newsmagazine” style, revealing their insights, feelings and emotional responses to the Easter story. We see how their lives were affected and changed by Jesus, and realize that He is still affecting and changing lives today. The congregation has an opportunity to join by worshipping in song with the choir throughout large sections of the musical, and will recognize many of the songs as contemporary Christian and praise band favorites. The DVD is designed to play straight through the musical supplying the music, the lyrics on cue for the worship songs, as well as the filmed characters and many other visuals to enhance and support the story, so that we can concentrate on singing.

Anyone who is interesting in participating is invited to sing, even if you’re not a member of any musical group in the church and even if you can’t read music. Easter is early this year (March 23rd), and this presentation will occur before Easter, so we don’t have much time. Everyone interested in participating is asked to attend the organizational meeting. We will be showing part of the actual multimedia production that accompanies the singers. If you can’t attend the meeting, but are interested in singing, please contact Bill or Tracy Oley at
