The clergy whom President-elect Barack Obama has asked to pray or speak at his inauguration as the 44th president of the United States on Tuesday and related events include leaders representing differing places on the spectrum of religious thought and practice. Their selection suggests that Obama, who is a Christian himself, highly values religion but does not intend to let his administration be defined within the viewpoint of any single religious group.
